Welcome to my Conejo Valley Community Spotlight. Growing up here in the Conejo Valley has been such a privilege. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to live, and now I get to raise my kids here as well. We have so many wonderful business owners out here, and this page is dedicated to supporting them and their quest to make the Conejo Valley one of the best places to live. If there’s a particular business you’d like to see me spotlight, please let me know. I’d love to meet the owners and talk about how I can help to promote their business.

Conejo Valley Community Spotlight Video – Side Street Cafe
Talk about a hidden gem! The Side Street Cafe has been around in Newbury Park for around 25 years. I just went there for the first time LAST MONTH! Wow! Have I been missing out.
I’m a huge breakfast fan. I think I’ve gone to every possible breakfast place in the Conejo Valley. I discovered Side Street Cafe as I was reading the VC Star Readers Choice Awards. SSC has won the Best Breakfast award for the last 3 years running! As of this post I have been there 5 times, and I’ve loved my breakfast each time I went.
If you’re looking for a new place to have breakfast, go check out Side Street Cafe.
Conejo Valley Community Spotlight – The Handlebar Barbershop
Hey everyone, I was recently turned on to a very cool family owned business here in T.O. A friend of mine recently introduced me to it and I just had to do a spotlight video for them.
I was highly impressed with their store. They’ve gone with the old school barbershop motif had have done an incredible job with it.
If you’re looking for a new place to get a great haircut, beard/mustache trim, or would like to get a fantastic shave, go check out The Handlebar Barbershop here in T.O.
Located at 2219 Thousand Oaks Blvd, they can be reached by calling (805) 317-4283. You can also check out their website at TheHandlebarBarbershop.com
I LOVE beer, and Institution Ale is helping to support my habit. If you’re into micro brews then you have to go check them out. They just opened their new location back in June and things are taking off for them. They’ll be distributing nationally in no time I’m sure. Good job Smith family. Keep up the good work.
Bandits Grill & Bar is a long standing restaurant in the area. With 2 locations to serve you in Camarillo and Thousand Oaks, good BBQ food is never far away.
El Sancho Loco is THE BEST mexican food restaruant in the area. The owner, Joe Escobar is a really great guy who’s doing his part to help support the youth of our community as well. Come check out El Sancho Loco and say hi to Joe.
Awesome new business opening in October 2015 here in Newbury Park. Check out this Conejo Valley Community Spotlight video for Orangetheory Fitness.
Keith Beley is a great local guy who will transform your yard into a tropical paradise. With dozens upon dozens of local jobs to his credit, he’s one of the premier landscape designers in the area.
Martine Perez has been my personal gardener for over a decade. I’ve used and referred him for years with great results.
Use Keith to design your yard, and use Martine to keep it looking awesome!
Consignment Sports is THE place to go for all of your used sporting goods needs. Why buy new when you can get nearly new at a fraction of the cost. Or, if you’ve got a bunch of sporting goods just lying around taking up space, go see Walt. He’ll take them off your hands for a fair price. I’ve used Consignment sports many times.
Jay Harrah is a great life long resident of the community. Him and his staff will make your car look like new again. If you’re looking to give your car some love, Jay is the man to see.
Great new restaurant here in Newbury Park. If you’re a fan of authentic German food, go check out Jeanette’s Edelweiss located in the old Lamppost Pizza location.
